Fashioning the Terno : A Costume Design Workshop

by Gino Gonzales Wed 8 June - Fri 10 June 2016 1-7 pm In line with its current exhibition, Badong : Salvador Bernal Designs the Stage, the Ateneo Art Gallerywith the support of Bench presents, Fashioning the Terno, a workshop to train practicing fashion and costume designers in crafting the national dress. Facilitating the masterclass is Gino Gonzales, a protege of National Artist for Theater and Design, Salvador Bernal. In this workshop he continues the work of his mentor in teaching others how to create proper, period appropriate ternos. The workshop will not only teach participants the rudiments of making terno patterns but will give them a brief history of the period to provide them with an understanding of the context of the way in which these dresses were worn and how they evolved throughout the century. This masterclass is being given free of charge through the generosity of Bench.  Slots are very limited.  Interested participants should send a copy of the CV and an image of their work to by Saturday, 4 June.  Only those able to attend the entire workshop (June 8-10, 1-7pm) should apply. SHAPE : A Visual Art Summer Workshop at the Ateneo Art Gallery

Please be informed that due to public demand the Shape workshop has been shortened from two weeks to one week. This one week workshop will follow the set schedule for Module 1, May 4 (Monday) to May 8, (Friday), from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Ateneo Art Gallery. The workshop will cover traditional media of drawing (pencil, pen, ink and charcoal), illustration, painting and collage as well as the basics of starting a professional portfolio. Also due to public demand, professional artists wishing to refresh their skills are welcome to participate in the workshop, as students. The workshop fee has been reduced from Php 15,000 to Php 7,500. The Ateneo Art Gallery wishes to thank those who have shared their feedback regarding this workshop.   Connect Collaborate Create
